Guys, I’ll switch in a heartbeat to a Linux OS if any one you can recommend a stable OS that works on a Surface Go 2. It should support its touchscreen, of course, and a Surface Pen. Plus, a FOSS alternative to Journal would be stellar
So it begins.

Ayy Lemmy.zip :)
I’m not sure if this is stretching it, but this comment thread is just so awesome. It’s like one of those moments on reddit that would be referenced for years to come
Or weeping because mod creators pulled their mods in protest :(
Do you know off the top if it’s intact if I “fully wiped” it during the installation of a different OS?
Question for those that do: do you also pirate indie games? I am also inclined to just pirate Nintendo games as I already do on my 2DS, but I’d kinda feel bad about not giving money to actually good developers like Supergiant Games
Edit: Not sure about the downvotes. I’m asking a genuine question
Wow, those unsolicited emails are icky
And it’s not vegan, and it’s not made from fair cocoa, so two more reasons
I get that, I know what a graph is, but this is clearly meant as a meme, hence the lacking axis descriptions and scale, and the 3d rendering. It’s literally just a meme
Isn’t this kind of the point of the graph?
Definitely watch some comparison videos of the performance and make a decision based on that. If you’re likely to play the game on the go, then go for the Switch version. I myself realised, however, that I wouldn’t be playing the game on the go at all since my SO was interested too, so I got the game for PS5 for the better performance.
I think the performance isn’t stellar on Switch, but you can make it work since nothing too crazy is going on in the game that would require perfect framerate and resolution - most of the game is reading anyway.
Enjoy your time, whichever version you choose!
Good point, thanks
The UI is better and not as slow as on smart TVs from what I’ve heard. Plus you can play games on the console and watch DVDs and Blurays if that’s your thing. Apart from that, not much.
Just get a cheap PS4 or Xbox and watch all your stuff on there. We have an LG “Smart TV” that just doesn’t need to be connected to the internet because our PS5 (formerly PS4) is fast and snappy, and has all the apps we could want to stream off. Plus, both have a Bluray player installed right off the bat, so we can even watch those if we’re up for it.
Don’t bother with sluggish performance on your Smart TV, it’s just not worth it.
Now you’re thinking with portals
They look neat. How thick are they?
That was my first thought! I’ve actually been recommended to try it sometime if I like Frostpunk. They seem quite similar in gameplay from what I’ve seen and heard.
You might enjoy Frostpunk. It’s a very similar gameplay loop.
Thanks for the insight. I tried my hands at Kubuntu on an old laptop of mine and didn’t mind the few differences too much. From what I’ve heard on Lemmy, Mint seems to be a good all-around suggestion for new Linux users, though
