Basically the title. I need a distro for a live boot that have both Gparted and Gnome-Disks-Utility preinstalled.
I know Ubuntu have it, but I’m afraid they’ll remove it in the future, because of the slimmer ISO.
Plus, I’ll prefer smaller ISO file, since it used only for liveboot.
Thanks for every comment.
Are you just looking for a partition editing tool? Rescuezilla ships with gparted and some other backup/rescue tools and boots from live usb though gnome disks isnt included if i remember. Gparted distributes its own live boot utility. You could also look into making a persistent live installation of ubuntu or other distro and have those installed and theyll remain on the disk.
Edit: Rescuezilla comes with gnome Disks so this may be what youre looking for
I do use Rescuezilla, so I’ll might use only that. Thanks :)
Why not just used the official GParted livecd?
Does it have both of them? I honestly don’t remember.
Thanks for the comment :)
That is a good point, the livecd doesn’t even use Gnome, so it’s unlikely it’ll have Gnome Disks.
What is it that you’re trying to do with Gnome Disks, if I may ask?
Not OP, but I do find Gnome Disks to be rather useful for adding entries into fstab. It grabs the UUID for you and offers some easily configurable fields.
you could use MXlinux and it’s remaster tools/feature to build your own custom USB/iso.
MXlinux makes such a task rather easy.
remove stuff you don’t need to get it as small as you desire.
antix works too and it’s even smaller.
Live Kit may be what you are looking for. Haven’t tried this myself, but it looks straight forward. You basically turn an already installed system into a live distro.
Oh, that’s great. I’ll definitely check this out. Tnx man :)
you could install your favorite distro with all your customizations and needed programs on a flash drive and use that as a rescue system
Fedora has both.
I’ll might need it for another tool, TYVM :)
I need it preinstalled to be independent of internet access.
Solus Budgie Edition.
I appreciate the comment!
