I run Linux Mint Cinnamon, latest version, on a GPD Pocket 2 with absolutely no issues. The touch screen, although it is a small one, works perfectly.
It should have fallen on her manager to handle, and she should have put her foot down on that.

My main OS since Linux Mint 17.3, and still very happy with it. Switched from MacOS after a 10 year Apple stint and haven’t regretted it for even a second. My hardware needs were much cheaper if anything.

Depends on your usage. I used it many times to get support for various services I paid for and didn’t get help using the regular channels. A public tweet to the company’s Twitter handle about an issue did wonders. Besides that I used it to follow like minded people in the same hobbies as me. I did nuke my account when Space Karen took over.
