You are the one who presumed to know what I do or don’t actually want. Thank you for your attempt at kindness but it really didn’t come off like that to me. I think its best to end this interaction here as its not going to be productive for either of us. Sorry.
Edit: oh i thought you were the person who I was responding too but you are not… in that case please leave me alone, thankyou…
i wasn’t asking for advice and its not welcome
im trying very hard to quit smoking weed… i know it’s not the same as nicotine addiction but it’s still a struggle. I smoked weed almost every day for like 6 years or something.
its annoying cus like i will be reminded of it constantly, weed culture is everywhere, memes and shows and movies and books. I get reminded and i want it, I get the urge and its hard not to smoke a little. i will go days or weeks without any but then I will fuck up and smoke again and suddenly i will be smoking every day again for a few weeks.
edit: i wasn’t asking for advice, i have a therapist I am working with please stop trying to give me advice its not what I want or need and I don’t like it, it makes me super incredibly uncomfortable. Its not helping. Thank you
Can you elaborate on what “subpoenable information” means. Like I have a vague idea but im not super clear if thats like a legal term with special considerations or whatever. Elaboration would be helpful.
I could probably say the same about AI and crypto and mega yachts sure
But healthcare, housing, education, childcare, sustainable green energy, sustainable food production… All of them seem way more important than sending more junk into orbit.
Seriously how are space launches a priority right now when we are facing global ecological collapse
They are connected but in practice there is definitely a big separation between lemmy and mastodon… you see mastodon posts on mastodon, lemmy posts on lemmy. yes its possible to view lemmy posts on mastodon but its fucking garbage integration, i have never seen a lemmy posts boosted on mastodon it just doesn’t happen… if I see a mastodon post here its in the form of a screen shot… the communities are effectively separate
Mastodon is pretty great for queer people. Better than lemmy I would say (and obviously better than the mainstream apps) …
Thats a technical issue that likely can be solved. I doubt some feedback loop of training data will be the downfall of AI… The way to stop it is to refuse to use it( lets be real the regulators arnt gana do shit)
If you can’t handle me at my apple car with worms in my brain, you don’t deserve me at my owl witch riding a broom scooter.
I am also always immensely confused how gamers don’t see valve taking 30% of pc sales and not recognize that as greedy shit bag behavior.
We all know when google or apple does it on their app store its bad, or when spotify pays artists pennies its bad, or when actors are striking because of its shady residuals payout from streaming its bad. But when king gaben does it, its fine perfectly ok. Even though game devs are some of the most overworked and underpaid workers in tech. And then people wonder why games suck lately.
No they don’t, Steam barely ever gets updated, it’s not magically better than the others it’s just the one everyone uses.
Digital storefronts are natural monopolies. No one wants to use a different game launcher because it’s annoying to remember multiple passwords, to remember which game is where, to install and have multiple launchers running. None of that is Valve doing some amazing engineering that no one else has done, it’s just the natural state of game launcher / storefront economics. The only reason Steam is what people prefer is because it was the first one on the scene and has the lion share of users and games for sale.
We see the same thing happen with streaming platforms, the same thing happen with social networks. And Steam is also a social network which reinforces the monopoly. The other launches have friends and chat and shit but no one uses it because their friends are on steam or discord.
Valve is also a good example of platform monopoly. People need to stop treating valve like they aren’t also a big problem with the modern games industry. They are PC gaming’s landlord taking a 30% cut of every sale. You have to be smoking crack if you think that doesn’t hurt game developers.
I like math :) Its mysterious and fascinating and constantly surprising, like seeing the source code of the universe. Closest shit we have to actual magic.
The first episode was by far the worst episode of the season. Honestly the first 3 are all kinda meh but it picks up after that. The most recent episodes all feel very similar to s1. It feels like that are making a concerted effort to return to their roots, but still had some episode in the pipeline they couldn’t change which is what we see at the start of the season. Its only a few episodes tho so who knows if it will stick.
Please leave me alone
