Damn, and I just ran out of cow bell
This is definitely a concern, but so long as this data isn’t pooled, we’re mostly fine. Credit card fraud is usually an hour of frustration per person. However, stalking certainly received a fresh new method.
They’ve been doing essentially the same thing for years. Here’s the site from 2 years ago. Not to say that this is definitely safe, but scam sites usually don’t last this long

>pause to allow video to buffer
>several ads load
>time required to buffer actually increases by pausing
>set a script to jump back 1 second every second
>finally get to watch your video
It will eventually find issues with malicious users but for now, it’s an incredible concept.
Automattic says the move to WordPress will have its advantages, as it will make it easier to share the company’s work across the two platforms.
I foresee no issues
He absolutely will. Granted it’ll be after all the little kinks like meningitis, aluminum poisoning, spontaneous ignition, malicious hacking, eternal nightmare states, blindness, cancer, and cluster headaches are ironed out. 90% death rate, babyyy
3000 dollars
Guess I’ll continue to use my old computer and an hdmi connection to a physically Wi-Fi disabled smart tv. I understand why it costs what it does but fuck.
Having seen the complete absence of mayhem on kbin caused by vote visibility, the absolute and utter nothing that will come of this decision leads me to say yeah, sure. That said, I’d prefer improved mod tools over this, but option c isn’t listed.
“Have you managed to mend the relationship with your cousin yet? And is the restaurant doing alright?”
Those’ve been fairly common for the last like… 8 years on Reddit. Interestingly, they started as mug and trinket sale ads and have since launched into every facet. Some major marketing firms use that method now, and I blame spammers for that blight.
Until they subtly inject them into other social media platforms, whereupon they’ll trickle into Lemmy like so much piss from an overflowing toilet. Mark my words, we’ll be up to our eyes in piss by 2026.
Doesn’t seem to have been. I figured you were trying to say that Biden should have attempted to outlaw deepfakes and/or fake news, so I took you literally as a joke. Might’ve just misclicked.
To be honest, I’m not sure how posting AI fake videos of Harris would have helped
Because optimization isn’t secondary or even tertiary to the average modern design philosophy. The extra power is, unfortunately, mandatory for a decent user experience.
08 reddit was vastly different than 12 reddit which was vastly different than 16 reddit which was vastly different than 20 reddit which was vastly different than 24 reddit.
For what it’s worth, they’re all terrible in their own unique ways. Aside from a brief window some time after 16 but before 20, during which bots and hate speech were both heavily moderated. Except in conservative spaces, but there’s no polishing those turds.
Absolutely true! But tor can be more than a bit intimidating for new users. Many people hold preconceptions that may prevent them from using it, much less browsing a .onion. “Install Firefox and 4 addons” seems like a layperson’s simplest start and simplifying access to information is indescribably useful. As I said, I do not disagree.
I’m more worried that this will give malicious non-state actors and, worse still, the Russian government easier access to Russian citizens seeking the ability to look behind the veil. The result of this repression will be inexperienced folks downloading an exe and quietly being logged as a dissident or innocent people finding their information compromised or hardware hijacked. Sourcing clean, difficult to track downloads of these addons and Firefox will become important in the near future.
The cruel age of the onion dip will sear agony upon not just our souls, but our eyes and nostrils.
