I do feel sorry for the admin staff that have to deal with it, and my ire is 90% directed at insurance. However, when they can’t even read the back of the insurance card to follow the instructions to properly file a claim, it just gets tiring.
Haha exactly! I mean, I know this is how it works, it just feels like it’s gotten way worse in the last few years.
Completely agree. Just had to vent.
I completely agree about it being the providers responsibility. The problem is, they don’t want to do anything to resolve the issue either. Other times, it doesn’t even involve the provider, they did everything right but for some byzantine reason it didn’t go through the insurance system correctly and you have to call them and tell them to process it the same way they have processed every other exact same bill from the exact same provider.
Just wanted to vent. I should clarify I live in the US (as if that wasn’t clear from my post LOL!)
So I WAS on 11 until all of the sudden my computer refused to boot with the special hardware thing enabled. Had to downgrade to Windows 10 and the mobo manufacturer’s response was ‘try replacing every other part in your PC’…sorry I don’t have the money to have spare parts of everything just lying around. 10 works perfectly fine, and it’ll give me an excuse to upgrade my mobo in Oct 2025. :-)
I still call them buddy icons when I’m not thinking
Slime Rancher might be worth looking into.
The Steam Deck has revolutionized this for me. I was always too tired to sit upright at my desktop and game after we got the kiddo to bed. Now I can lay in bed and play my PC games. I’m finally working through games I never thought I would get to.
A Steam Deck helps! I can lay in bed after the kid is asleep and knock out a half hour/hour session before sleep. Let’s not talk about the advisability of using devices in bed…
Always wild to me that this is Del from TCaP.
Is PotatOS a new Linux distribution?
I guess I’m just a boring person, I have nothing really to say or share that is post worthy, but I try to contribute to discussions when I can.
I don’t know what to say. I went in not expecting a 1 to 1 of the books. I agree there are definitely some things that are very questionable and things I don’t like, and I think there are some cool things about it too. I love the books and they will always be there for me to enjoy. I just don’t have the energy to get that upset about stuff like this anymore. I’m not trying to change your mind and I see where you’re coming from. I’m just trying to say that liking the series doesn’t automatically mean you’ve never read the books.
Read and loved them since I was a kid. I understand that different mediums have different requirements and adapting stories from the 40s/50s might necessitate some changes. I definitely have my issues with it, but I am able to enjoy it for what it is and not pretend it’s a 1 to 1 version of the books. Life is too short to get upset about entertainment.
I would say Severance, For All Mankind, & Foundation are all good to great. Apple TV has been doing a great job with the quality vs. quantity compared to other services. I tried to get into Ted Lasso but it wasn’t for me.
Not a vegan, but a vegetarian. This is why I love Indian food. When food is made from the beginning to not include meat products, it doesn’t feel like it’s ‘missing’ anything.
This. I’ve been at my job for a year as a remote out of state employee. All of the sudden, they decided we needed weekly team meetings and virtual team building when we had none before. My job is not collaborative, everyone on the team has a different role and most things can be handled over email/teams. I like my coworkers, but we’ve been working great together without all this crap. Even my manager doesn’t like it but it’s being forced on her from higher up, half the time she doesn’t have anything to share at the team meeting that couldn’t have been a one sentence email.
Edit to add: oh and these weekly team meetings have cameras on required, when before any of the few meetings we had never required this. Seems like one of the higher up read some article about ‘building virtual teams’ and went to town without actually stopping to think whether it fits.
