Nah I’d have to disagree in that statement entirely. TV Stations are ad companies. It isn’t shows with commercials every now and then, it’s the other way around.
And have you read a Magazine in the last 30 years? They’re entirely ads, including sponsored content.

It runs server-side, not on your browser. That said yes, I do think spoofing it server-side will eventually be how we get past this.
Within 6 months of implementation someone will find a way around it, or a FOSS alternative to spoof the WEI signing on servers.

In many jurisdictions what they’re doing there isn’t illegal at all. It is well understood that you do not post links out in the open.
Downloading isn’t illegal, sharing is. At least outside of the US (and a few others)

You have no way of verifying that the client is only doing what it claims. The Open Source community is highly suspicious of proprietary software, doubly so when it’s based off of Open Source code.
If youre okay with that then no worries, but ofr myself and many others it’s an absolute deal breaker.

2006 is when I first dipped my toes into Linux, I recently verified this with some old SomethingAwful posts I had made way back then. I think Ubuntu was starting to get really popular, and I wanted to give it a shot. That’s what I remember anyway.
I immediately loved it, and have been using some form of Linux on my Laptop since. My Dekstop still runs Windows, but that’s mostly for Gaming and a few other applications that don’t play well under Wine or Proton.
Ive been listening to these two for years. I highly recommend anything Brad Shoemaker-related.
I really like it. It’s dirt cheap compared to other phone plans, and you get a lot of really great features. The novelty of being able to upload any mp3 I want as my voicemail is worth it.
Smartphone? I don’t even have a cell phone. No signal out where I live, and Im not paying to take calls while Im at work.
I use VOIP for my phone at home.
It’s incredibly difficult to take this seriously when they can’t even be bothered to spell whole words.
