9·1 month agoLook into Rufus, it will help you create a bootable USB with windows 11 and you can use it to do a upgrade or clean install from your windows 10 installation (clean install preferred IMO), it will even help bypass the hardware requirements and you can even remove the email account and use a local account. Make sure to use or write down your windows 10 activation/license for a clean install.
That being said you could potentially still run the old wondows OS, but as time goes on new exploits could be found that can compromise the OS. If its behind a firewall such as your router its safer, but there is still the possibility of it being infected way off into the future.
Here is a video of windows XP running on a PC connected directly to the internet with no firewall. Its infected almost instantaneously. (Dont try this at home).

2·3 months agoNo worries, VMware or some of the other virtualization software’s should work in this case as most other comments pointed out. Probably the most simple and straight to the point.
If you have the urge to tinker, another potential item or route you can look at is a proxmox machine. You can run multiple VMs in tandem at the same time. This would run on a standalone machine.
You would then be able to remote desktop into any virtualized OS on your home network. You can use a software like parsec which I like to access each machine from a clean interface.
I run a Hackintosh’s dual booting Mac OS and Windows. So you solution is not insane as some have pointed out.
What I would suggest is maybe running a NAS on your local network to act as your share. Obviously this won’t help if you dont store your working files on your NAS, but its an idea. I know no way to directly share between the two machines as they are technically not on at the same time.

100 percent true. Any item created by a company should be collected back by that company for full disassemblely and recycled fully.
This should be true for any thing, such as tvs, microwaves, fridges, couches, beds, plastic bottles, fast food packagings. Companies should accept the item back at pickup points easily accessible, and take back any item no matter how old. Think of beer bottle collections at your local beer store.
We as tax payers should really stop allowing corporations to use public funded landfills and garbage collection for “free”. These costs should really be part of the products created internalised by corporations.
