    No, the majority are about specific history or culture, usually local. Natural History Museum covers nature, Science Museum covers science, Leeds museum covers the history of the city of Leeds, Crab museum covers worker’s movements. The British museum is really the Stuff The British Stole museum.

    removing their protection

    Oh please, please do tell me about NATO’s defensive operations. I promise you it’s not a trick, there is at least one NATO operation that took place on the soil of a member state.
    Then we can talk about all of NATO’s invasions of non-member states and take a look at how reasonable it is to demand that a group that have specifically designated you as their enemy withdraw from bordering states.

    Uh, sure, but we’re not 6 year olds anymore, so you should be able to grasp the larger geopolitical implications of a specifically anti-Russian alliance continuing to further enlarge and spread into countries bordering Russia. Remember when the US innocently moved a few nukes to Turkey and it resulted in the Cuban Missile Crisis?

    According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg;

    The background was that President Putin declared in the autumn of 2021, and actually sent a draft treaty that they wanted NATO to sign, to promise no more NATO enlargement. That was what he sent us. And was a pre-condition for not invade Ukraine. Of course we didn’t sign that.

    The opposite happened. He wanted us to sign that promise, never to enlarge NATO. He wanted us to remove our military infrastructure in all Allies that have joined NATO since 1997, meaning half of NATO, all the Central and Eastern Europe, we should remove NATO from that part of our Alliance, introducing some kind of B, or second class membership. We rejected that.

    So he went to war to prevent NATO, more NATO, close to his borders.

    I know you think you’re very clever for not buying into such obvious russian disinformation, but they don’t need to lie about stuff like this. Start doing a bit more research instead of taking news at face value.

  • Yeah, I did look, most of them I’ve never seen before. Its a big list, but it covers a worldwide range of companies - most of them are specific to only a handful of countries. For dog food I can choose Harrington’s, Pedigree, Butcher’s etc, for sweets there’s Mars, Haribo, Barratt etc - I really get the impression that you’re thinking of the Big 11 companies, which are almost impossible to wholly boycott.

    White brands are a different case, but I don’t even bother with off-brands of stuff Nestle makes, so I’m pretty sure I’m safe.

  • This comment really highlights the lack of materialism in liberal ideology.

    Queer people getting rights in the past required people to change their behaviour and modes of thought, and the modern queer movement still just want to be treated like everyone else - like not having to constantly correct people about their gender.

    Nothing has changed. They’re the exact same movement, still trying to claw its way to equality.

  • God, you’re such a big dumb idiot of a lib. That’s the definition of a democratic socialist, not a social democrat - you can tell by the way one of the groups are call socialists and the others are called democrats. Not only did you mix up your definitions, but you never actually managed to define democratic socialist - do you really know what the difference is if you can’t even remember to talk about one of them? The answer, scrolling down your post history to where you called yourself a socdem, is no, you think they’re the exact same thing, because you don’t even have a surface level understanding of leftism. It only takes 5 minutes in leftist spaces to discover that anarchists, socialists, and communists of all flavour hate socdems for exactly your “no really, somehow we’ll manage to vote socialism in this time” attitude, but you’ve never spent a single minute in them, because you’re not a leftist.

    My version of leftism is called Marxism and is based in historical reality and current material conditions. Your version is fantastical utopianism that’s convinced the elite are just going to give up the reigns any day now.
