  • That assumes you have bought you own house which you can alter. Where I live it’s 60% owns and 40% rents, but the cities, where it’s much warmer and which heat up faster and thus need ac the most, have more renters than buyers. So you’re dependent on whoever you’re renting from to do anything like that.

Lmao. We do need ac though, the problem is Europe has a ton of older houses which were build when it was much more beneficial to try and keep warmth in rather than out. And it’s a pain in the ass to retrofit all these houses with ac. I live in a flat which was build about 15 years ago and the difference compared to my previous apartments is enormous. Still no ac, but it’s not needed here because of proper isolation and smaller windows.

  • I once forgot to respond to a friend for 5 months, lmao. Luckily he knows me well enough to know I sometimes forget and I was kind of going through a personal crisis, so a ‘hey man kinda forgot to respond for 5 months, how are you’ was enough to make it all right again

  • Agreed. If I’m going on vacation I avoid cities as much as possible and want to be in the middle of nowhere in nature. That means no hotels for 10s of kilometers, but there’s usually at least one person renting out a room or something similar. I’ve also never experienced any of the things in this meme in places like that, but that could also be because it’s an American thing, which wouldn’t surprise me.

  • I only do it immediately when I have very few dishes. Like for breakfast I only use a knife, a spoon and a bowl, that gets washed immediately, or a plate and a knife for lunch. When I’ve cooked with multiple pans for dinner, I’ll do it the next day. But it’s still nice that there’s no pile-up of dishes for those little things, and it takes 30 seconds, so why not.

I don’t dislike music, but I do view it as something very situational. I only listen to music when I’m going somewhere by bike or foot or when I’m working out. I blame my 4 years of being a mail carrier for creating this 1 to 1 connection between moving and listening to music. I never put on music when I’m home. But I dislike ‘background’ anything in general. I’ve never in my life put on a movie, TV show or podcast as ‘something to listen to in the background’. That’s baffling to me. Music is the same I guess. If I’m home it’s automatically background because I’m not gonna sit om my couch and stare at a wall while I listen to music. While if I’m working out or going somewhere I can intentionally listen.
