I don’t necessarily think it’s too late. There will be a niche that someone/some entity will settle into for us privacy minded folk. Hopefully that niche gets beefy processors and extra ram fr fr

A lot of it has to do with Texas having the Gulf of Mexico ports all along the coast. It’s a big reason petrochemical refining is so big in Texas. Another plus for Texas is it’s abundance of land they can either buy or imminent domain. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not a Texas supporter, but it’s just one of those location based decisions I’m sure.
Not to mention if your a business in Texas you usually only get slaps on the wrist when you poison the environment. Worker safety? Mostly dependent on company policy with the main focus just barely making OSHA compliance. If the fine is cheaper than compliance, a lot of companies just pay the fine if it happens.
I actually use funkwhale now for music. It’s really decent so far. A little buggy though, but it should iron out
I find it pretty awesome that instead of doing Remote Code Execution to fuck up someone’s life, they instead exploited it in live broadcast which shows the world how terrible these rootkits that go by the name of “anti cheat” are.
If it would scale to enterprise level that’s a game changer. It would lead to Linux just clobbering the pc market space.
I’m forced into Office suite at my work and I have to fight it.
That absolutely astounds me but your right. Especially crazy considering at any point something could happen to your internet then you’re fucked.
That’s great to hear. It’s a nice little program suite for at home, and I hope one day it can compete against Google/Microsoft’s offerings
The app feels like a double dip. Can’t just buy their products, they want your data to sell too
Features that are not so great: “This app redirects to data gathering services” stuff like that
I’m gonna have to try this out. Looping is such a useful way to make songs
Umm, correct me if this seems like a bad take…but is there a need for a new console generation considering the overlap of the xbone/ps4 with this gen? Only the Nintendo Switch is in dire need of a hardware upgrade, especially with handheld gaming computers like Steam Deck offering much needed competition.
