As a “gamer” and game developer, this is sound advice.

Sympa l’article. Par contre Refused c’est clairement du punk, ou alors ils ont un homographe que je connais pas
Meh. Imo anyone comparing an integer to a float and not expecting one of them to be implicitly casted to the other’s type will create that issue for themselves when doing the same thing with an explicit cast.
Agreed. But the less experienced programmers I know are surprisingly naive about this.
That makes sense, but then you’d just have people converting the int to a float manually and run into the exact same issues.
Yeah they have some cool gadgets and designs, but this kind of shit + the software side has always kept me away from the brand
The UI looks more “slick”, and it is censored, so your portfolio or whatever you want to showcase isn’t displayed alongside some MLP porn or pregnant Sonic comics. Which doesn’t mean there isn’t tons of “artistic nudity” on the site though, last time I checked.
I’m not an artist myself but I know the artists in my industry (videogames) love to use it
I’d argue all the humans left when artstation became big. All my artists friends used to upload their (non porn) work to deviantart before artstation was popular. But banning the porn was the first nail in the coffin for sure.
Imo, as soon as you write it as 0.25 multiplied by a fraction it works, because you can then easily see that it’s the same as (1/4)*2
Yeah I was gonna comment that 0.25*(1/0.5) = 0.5 doesn’t look nearly as weird
I have only used it for a little more than a day so far, but I’m already in love with it because it basically required 0 tinkering to get my Nvidia GPU to work, and the few games I have tried have been running almost flawlessly.
I’m not exactly the age or attractiveness that most people expect in a touring musician, either.
Just start making IDM. Looking weird and/or unattractive seems to be a requirement (and, don’t get me wrong, I’m here for it)
Spotify’s model is doomed to fail over time.
This right here. At the very least, unless they are not beholden to shareholders, it will eventually reach market saturation and will have to cut artists’ share, hike prices up, or add more paywalls to keep the line going up
I have never seen it framed as “it is an absolute disgrace that this game does not have a hard mode, and if you think otherwise you are an idiot and/or ableist (or whatever the opposite would be)” tbh. Which is pretty much what the easy mode advocates were saying about Sekiro the last time I followed that debate
Good thing that the existence of a GUI for a program doesn’t prevent you from using its CLI version then !
even if you don’t know for sure that the machine is right, you know statistically that it’s fine. So you go for it.
This kind of shit is why I have zero faith in the fact that AI will be used responsibly in basically any field. Mfs are already using it to avoid taking responsibility for potential war crimes ffs.
I’m considering it even more seriously right now. I had my eyes set on Fedora, but apparently I shouldn’t, because they are ditching official support for X11, and I need it because I have an Nvidia GPU ? I was also looking at pop OS, but I also saw people recommending against Ubuntu on Lemmy, I don’t remember why though. Do you have a recommendation ?
Yeah, Raymond Hill made a great plugin, but the people maintaining the lists are the real MVPs
Windows 11 (and how much I like my experience with the Steam deck, if I’m being honest) has me seriously reconsidering switching to Linux for my gaming desktop
