Some emails that came in looked as if they came from vulnerable people themselves, asking for help. It may be that they haven’t received or understood the message to update their address book.
I did not interfere with any of the e-mails, as this would go beyond the objectives of this investigation, but it is concerning, to say the least, that these individuals will never receive a reply. They would not have received a response anyway, but it makes me wonder how many cries for help get lost in abandoned e-mail inboxes.
This honestly depressed me, I know firsthand many people who need help from someone who has more or less knowledge to understand something as simple as the migration of a service or an email, it is really depressing not only to know that this happens, but also that There are people who are such bastards that take advantage of this.
Could someone explain to me how the author gained access to “I forgot my password” accounts that were not his but were in his domain? I mean, I understand that it’s on his domain, but just because I have the domain mydomain@domain.com does that mean I can redirect all emails to the main domain? Excuse the dumb question.
Edit: Thanks for the clarification! Now I understand!
IMHO there’s no other way to know that something works that trying it by yourself. I honestly don’t believe that there’s some kind of specific problem with that model that will not let you use Linux on it, maybe some kind of BIOS/UEFI lock but that’s usually easy to unlock.
Maybe if you really want to be sure that it works, you can try using Mint from Live Mode (Booting directly from the pendrive without installing the OS) before purchasing it.
Wait, that really happened to you on an AMD GPU? I thought it was an Nvidia driver problem.
I’m probably wrong, but isn’t supposed to work if my CPU have a iGPU and I have a GPU? I genuinely ask, I’m not sure.
That’s sound pretty useful, I actually have an HDD that’s very noisy and this can come handy, thanks!
What is APM? And that’s a interesting list, ngl.
Linus is my superhero, apart from being the creator of Linux he can also give me marital recommendations
If you want just boot your system and not have to worry about setting up keybindings, my best suggest is ArcoLinuxB i3 Edition and Garuda Linux i3 flavor, you really don’t have to worry at all for that, and you can use the i3 reference card to learn the most common keybindigs.
I used to spend an unhealthy amount of hours customizing my desktop (Plasma) just to distrohop and repeat that cycle one million times. Then I just got used to the vanilla state of Plasma, and now I really don’t care about that at all.
Fuck I’m so blind, thanks…
I’m using KDE Neon, that uses Ubuntu LTS so yeah… It’s obvious that i’m using a very outdated i3 version.
Interesting, I didn’t know it existed outside of Garuda. Thanks OP.
Would you mind clarifying why? I use File Centipede and it’s been working perfect for now.
Thanks for sharing your work at Lemmy! I say this because although I don’t use Reddit, I’m sure that logically because there are more users there and being more famous, it is the preferred platform for developers to share their work.
Think you’ll implement a replay feature in the future? I love that feature.
And is there any chance of porting your job in the future to Wayland? Currently there is no program (only OBS, as far as I know) that allows recording in Wayland, it would be great to have more options.
Completely agree, as an NVIDIA user (for now) I am screwed if I am required to use Wayland. I mean, I use Wayland for a long time and it works well with NVIDIA but there are many things that don’t quite work, like many emulators (Yuzu/RPCS3) that for some reason have a strange tearing, or some programs that simply won’t open in xWayland.
I don’t want to be pessimistic, but I consider that in this scenario (as a Battlefield 2042 player) there are only three possible options:
The company kindly activates Proton/Wine support, but they don’t do it because they love their users, they do it because they realized that specifically the Steam Deck has a certain market share that they are losing.
Valve makes an agreement with those companies and with the anticheats and allows us gamers to play from Linux as if it was Windows but not bypassing the anticheat, but implementing some kind of anticheat also for Wine/Proton.
The one I consider most likely, we’re screwed and we’ll have to wait for some hacker (or experienced users) to figure out how the hell to make the anticheat think we’re in Windows when we’re really in Wine. It seems to me that this happens with some Wine prefixes that I have no idea make it possible to play LOL on Linux.
As I said, I am not an expert on the subject, my mentality comes from the fact that my concept of partitions was that they were overwritten, like making a scratch on a DVD and the content could not be read because of that.
It is incredible that it does all that in a matter of seconds, I mean, it moves so much data without problem in jusr seconds, although in fact that is something curious that I have noticed in Linux. If I move something to the same storage even if it is in a different partition, it makes it instantaneous.
How does that work exactly?
