That’s how most games are lol. Of course you have your fanatics who have to play the new game and nothing but the new game (looking at the Abiotic Factor discord server), but once I finish the current content I’ll move on to something else until a new update.

I’m cycling through Abiotic Factor, Selaco, and Going Medieval right now.

I’ve heard that this Sakurajima update (wild name, btw) is pretty huge, bringing an entire building system overhaul, new pieces, as well as new pals and an entire new map.

I think the Battle for Middle-Earth games deserve remakes.

It’s been too long since we’ve had a good LOTR game, let alone one that was an RTS.

Unrelated, but I met Casper at a convention last summer, and he was super cool. He seems like he’d be a fun guy to know.

No one here has mentioned Hellpoint. If you like sci-fi and/or horror elements, this may be one you want to check out. It has a big map, plenty of secrets and shortcuts, creepy lore, cool weapons and armor sets

Or even either of The Surge games. You can target individual limbs and depending on how you kill the enemy you’ll gain more experience or more resources to upgrade your gear.

I really liked Greedfall, but I didn’t finish the story. It felt like Dragon Age with guns, and it fits surprisingly well, especially with the rest of the world crafted around the game.

Uh, OG Half-Life is a decent game in 2024.

Though I’ll say Black Mesa gives that same feeling of playing the OG for the first time as a kid.

I really enjoy The Ascent. It’s got a great setting, the gameplay is pretty fun, there are various play styles and builds you can spec into.

The only issue is that the devs seem to be done working on the game, and there are issues. Namely, the last mission of the DLC being bugged so you can’t officially complete it. And it’s been like that for two years at least.

The storyline they added a couple years back with voiced NPCs was actually pretty interesting. Not enough to keep me engaged with the game, but enough to let me see what was happening with it.
