I don’t think that’s true. There’s a great video here that highlights the fact that even a lot of modern slang is far older than you think.
Synth noodling conceptual artist

Mate, the thing about gen x is that they dont care. This is boomer energy being projected.
Which is cool, I guess, whatever.
The second it becomes the standard is the second google looks for ways of nerfing it.
Dead drops and one time pads.
Set up a numbers station if you can afford it.
The devil is in the details. Different contracts state different usages.
Often, I’m hired to make things for folk, and they own it entirely. I see these things out in the world, I sometimes see other artists hired to butcher it to fit a new purpose. But that’s OK, I account for that, and often I hand over the source files from the things I make… Layered documents etc.
However, there’s a really disturbing trend of large companies appropriating fan art and claiming that because they own the IP any derivatives belong to them too. This is far ickier.
The main thing though is credit. You’d think that giving a nod to the original artist would be nice. It costs nothing and can have a massive impact on their business.
Not viruses as such, at least according to the inventor of the term, rather they are already part of our inheritable structure, our DNA (so to speak) seeking new ways to be inherited.
We are our memes.
I’m sorry, “lenchings” is not a word in this puzzle, or the dictionary. Watch this ad to gain another credit and gave another guess.
I use both, but honestly, some mastodon users can’t help but be outright patronising and hostile to newcomers.
The whole “we don’t do that here” vibe clearly puts folk off. Weirdly, it isn’t the long term users that do that, bug more recent converts.
Why do you think that is?
It’s always been about context and provenance. Who took the image? Are there supporting accounts?
But also, it has always been about the knowlege that no one… Absolutely no one… Does lines of coke from a woven mat floor covering.

Yeah, and fractions of that stone? Pounds.
So like 10 stone 5 pounds.
Or, conversely, just switch to Linux.
Take an hour or so to have a look around the place.
Go on the internet if you have any questions.
People are smarter than you assume and if you want Linux to grow in popularity we need to stop pretending any if this is difficult.
I think some folk want to pretend using Linux is hard so that they can feel more… Uh… Technical for using it.
You know we use pounds as a weight measurement too, right?
Some countries use imperial measurements, others metric, but the UK enjoys both.
Adore the darktable gang.
That hair though.
C’mon man, it’s time to get a coverage appropriate cut or just shave it altogether.
He looks like a boiled sweet that’s been dropped on the carpet.
All my heart still belongs to the canon HV20 forum. It taught me how to film, it taught me how to chat to people in an online community.
It was never about a camcorder. It was about connection.
Plus, you could search for stuff on google and the forum results would pop up. Good look with discord doing that.
I mean, I did mean run but also, yes, windows 10 is hot AF.
My set up comfortably plays cyberpunk at dead fancy settings, but doesn’t meet the system requirements for windows 11.
Yeah, I’m going to rub out windows 10 as long as I can (although I dual boot Debian anyway).
That’s why it is stubbonky popular.
Yeah? Cool.
