Not all jobs are bullshit of course. Yours is much needed. But that was just an example for of the argument, the core remains. Job-centric culture and chronic exhaustion is a social issue regardless of your personal experience.
We don’t need a paid job to in order to work and be productive. We can volunteer to make a better society or do something creative. We need to stop making the equivalence between free time=mindless media consumption. Also, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullshit_Jobs
The problem is we need the job money and getting it leaves us so exhausted we restore to lay down and watch a screen. But this is a situation created by the job-centric culture, not solved by it.
I’ve just made an UBI community since there wasn’t any on lemmy:

Edit: I still don’t know how to link properly
It’s the representation of the sovereign authority from the classic cover for Thomas Hobbes’ Leviathan
Ok, thanks for the clarification.
Then it looks quite redundant. Do you have any link on how to access matrix with a fedi user?
Advantages/differences over matrix.org chat?
Forgot the dump part on the pump/dump scam he got into
Man I loved YTP… Good mindless laughs. Still rewatch some classics today.
The illusion of infinite growth on “free use” ad based business dies when investment funds demand more benefits from former startups now turned into corporations whose only asset of value is the their users’ data. You are the product, so it’s time to squeeze you.
I think such data is currently overvalued on a overgrown ad-targeting market with too many competitors, and adding more ads only devaluates each ad value further, because users’ consuming capacity also has a limit. So I see a severe correction coming. Another bubble burst, and another crisis inside the crisis that late capitalism itself is.
Common sense experiments show everything is flat, so called “volume” is just part of the ideological agenda of the elites. If you don’t believe me just google any picture and watch it with your phone tilted.
Indeed. Our dependence in this kind of tourism also generates a low productivity economy with an underpaid and seasonal labor market, which leads to a lot of social problems. It’s really quite sad to be the “fiesta” country. I hope we are increasingly aware that this model is unsustainable and make a much needed change. Thanks for you kindness.
Don’t be ashamed, to be fair is our fault maintaining a tourism model that attracts this kind of people regardless of their country of origin, instead of respectful and nice people like you
Don’t be sorry, I was just joking. Also there are high chances that the sleeping fellow was a drunk british
