It’s highlighting a potential significant risk. Major ozone loss is much worse than lack of internet. The high uncertainty of the paper is easily offset by the harm that would be caused if the paper is correct.

Doing scientific experiments to understand the risks is worth doing.
Authentication of the author is not the same as copyright.
I don’t, it’s not the 18th century and the industrial revolution. Copyright had a time and place and that isn’t the here and now. We are worse off for copyright and patients today. Today they enshrine wealth and are a tool to prevent progress and inflate cost.
Using it to generate things that you double check. Transforming generative work to review work is a boost in productivity. So writing of any kind, art, etc. asking the llm for facts without context is a gross mistake. Prompting it to generate a specific paragraph in a larger, technical or regulator document is useful.

I think the reason I’m most glad I’m not a lawyer is bc then I would believe that that tiny text is a meaningful gotcha that some how justifies Sony being stupid. No, it wasn’t required bc you could play without signing in. Tiny words don’t define reality.

It also involves context; the post I replied to said it was not new. I simply noted that it occurred on slower days. My point being, you should check the dates of the source material for context. I made no judgment of the validity of that. You projected that. I agree with you It’s fine to visit the past.
It’s a 5-day old article; Lemmy loves those on Sunday.
They deserve double money
I think it is somewhat better than people who pay workers directly. Cutting out the owners is good; tipping isn’t a sound system, but overall, not paying via a middleman (owner) seems like the best path.
Yes, vastly underpaid workers are stealing your money.
Well said. There are so many details to making code work that can so often be avoided by using the right tooling. OP said it was harder to get started, which implies they did not handle the details and have code not actually robust to all kinds of edge cases. Maybe they don’t need it but they probably do.
Is the issue that all the plains are basically the same kind of wide and narrow-body passenger jets? Like there is hardly any variety in the images?
Cars have built in cell radios and can do ota updates.
There is a inversion of sorts here that is also important. If some people have access to the information hidden to everyone else they have power and control. Allowing just a few to read everything everyone else does gives them undo power. The access law enforcement has can and it abused, it is also sold or stolen.
