I was on oxycodone after surgery for 5 days, and I took senna (a stool softener) just like my surgeon told me to. Oh my god the constipation was insane. Like, I had to poop and just nothing would come out. I could not move my bowels. I ended up taking Miralax twice a day for 4 days and that solved the problem…a little too well. It went from completely stopped up to faucet anus with no stop in between.
Do not fucking recommend.

My dad (Jewish but atheist) never bothered keeping kosher so he’d make pork chops with latkes (“hey, they both taste good with applesauce!”), or a savory cheesy matzoh brei with bacon - you get the gist.
I don’t think it’s humanly possible not to like latkes. Sour cream and applesauce please!!
My family made a savory matzoh brei with onion and shredded cheddar, and we still covered it in maple syrup lol. To this day it remains one of my favorite comfort foods!

Yep. Half my family is Jewish, half is Catholic. My dad (Jewish atheist) made me sit through a really long seder once and afterward said he forgot how boring they are. And also didn’t warn me about the bitter herbs lol. Next time we went to a seder it was wayyy more streamlined.
The food is the best part of any holiday, to be fair.
