I somewhat understand what you are talking about but the buggy and poorly maintained Elite Dangerous isn’t the best example to support your argument. BG3 getting a pass on some features for the series S is exactly what other games should be able to do if it makes sense for them.

What you say is true but if you followed the reports you’ll know they fired the whole of the blizzard survival team, a good chunk of the Overwatch team and writers/story people from WoW. Very much not only the redundancies.
This is barely anything compared to the cut they take from every steam sale
It’s a shame they focused on making a impressive tech demo and forgot that it had to be a fun game.

It really depends on what versioning means for the project. If we are talking about semantic versioning then a lower number only means there haven’t been many breaking changes over time. Or that a lot of broken stuff has been kept that way because it would break compatibility.
