Manjaro and Antergos are just asking for trouble. If you want Arch, use Arch. Otherwise Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint, and Fedora are popular.
I don’t think the full Radeon suite is on Linux but there are tools for screen recording like simple screen recorder and OBS.
There is lots of 3rd party software available on all of these distros in their respective package managers, but Ubuntu has the advantage with PPAs allowing for more 3rd party repos to be easily added to the package manager.
HDR support is still very early/basic right now: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/HDR_monitor_support
The downside is all these greedy landlords make the prices outrageous so nobody can get a deposit on a house. It’s easy when you already own one house because you can use it as collateral and also your tenants will pay off your mortgage.
No, you pay off their mortgage in exchange for not being homeless. All renting should be rent to buy. No renting without equity in exchange.
Cross posting is built into Lemmy intentionally to allow for post and community discovery. It’s a client issue that there’s no good grouping or deduplication.
And on my PSP it changed one day with a software update from triangle to circle for back.
That was very confusing.
I feel like shitty sites getting too good at SEO has largely made google useless. That’s why you had to append “Reddit” to get any useful info that wasn’t from some SEO scamsite.
Yeah, that’s why I have my instance requiring you to request an account rather than just automatically making them.
A functional reactive programming language no less.
lemmy.world is down right now and your app is showing the raw HTML that is being returned (a CloudFlare 502 page)
I feel like twitter has been around long enough that people that want to use a platform like it will be aware of the concept of a hashtag for finding posts on a topic, etc.
Twitter/microblogging is a weird thing in general but you seem to have the idea. It can be useful for following events or people who write interesting things.
Mastodon hashtags are the way to discover conversations and people to follow, they go across instances in search.
here you go: !slackware@lemmy.ml
Honestly, the web app (and hopefully Sync when it arrives)
I made my own that compiles Lemmy from source. Basically just make a dockerfile with a build step that git clones Lemmy, checks out the tag for the release you want, writes that version number to the rust file that needs it (see the official docker image file for this), and then do a cargo build --release
.
I like Debian and Alpine for servers (depending on if I can get away with musl or not)
I use Arch for my actual computers because rolling release is the way to go. Saves me ever having to actually do a full OS upgrade.
They’ve already made the “new” reddit web view unusable for any sub marked NSFW. I feel sorry for the web devs at Reddit that spent all this time making a responsive site that works on mobile, then to be forced to artificially block access to push app usage.
You’re probably correct :(
The software is a little clunky but this is everything I dreamed of when I got half way through making a peer-to-peer reddit clone in 2015 and gave up lol
I enjoy OpenMW and I’m happy to host if you want, although my instance is basically just me and a few friends right now.
