  • Run the BIOS self tests.

Something’s definitely broken (TPM errors, self test errors, graphical artifacts), but I can’t tell what from the image. I would guess motherboard problems, or a subtly damaged CPU.

Could also be more then one problem in the case of over voltage (worst case consequence of PSU damage), or intermittent failure from under voltage (should be fixed with a new PSU).

  • This would be real nice if this let you easly run commands as SYSTEM or TrustedInstaller from a script, not just as Admin. Not only can Admin be reached from the “Run as Admininstrator” menu option, is actualy quite limited for messing around with system files. For the most part, Admin lets you mess with system settings/registry, and user files, but not with a lot if system/application files without TAKEOWNing everything.

  • I actually get 2x the battery life of windows on my ThinkPad. If you run a distro like Arch or Gentoo you will have to configure some things to get good battery life, but with Mint or something it just works™. If you want a whole lot of battery life you could get a laptop that has a replaceable battery, like the T480 (still plenty powerful for Linux), then your max life is limited only by how many extra batteries you are willing to carry.
