If only they had reliable utilities. Samsung’s fab in Austin got shut down for a few weeks from ice-mageddon. Messed them up enough that they threatened to leave if Texas didn’t give them something to make up for it.

Yeah I love the concept though, despite the dystopian energy built into it. It’s something like at cost + 10% for operating costs. Unfortunately I think they have limited options at the moment. Something tells me big Pharma doesn’t like this concept so it’s hard to make deals with them.
Returning them through the deposit makes sense, but I never would think that the recycling pickup people would sort them. Ours just take it to the dump
Interesting. How do the beer companies get their bottles back to reuse?
I use a fire stick because I’m familiar with them and they are much better than the shitty OS built into my TVs. Is there an alternative you recommend? I’m open to changing, especially with how theyve been pushing ads and paid rentals lately
Sounds like what Samsung is doing with Dex
The issue would be if you’re feeding your employer’s intellectual property into the system. Someone then asking ChatGPT for a solution to a similar problem might then be given those company secrets. Samsung had a big problem with people in their semiconductor division using it to automate their work, and have since banned it on company devices.
Google: “No”
It’s weird when they respect basic human rights. Totally fucks your perspective XD
Ya I get off on the 4th of July and Christmas. That’s it. But they give 2 weeks of floating holidays in lieu of that, 3 weeks PTO and 2 weeks of sick time per year. That’s a great setup in my industry and I attribute it to them being from the Netherlands. I also work 12 hr shifts and anything beyond 8 is OT, which is a choice by them, because I think it’s only required in California and I’m not there. The last company I worked for was based out of Cali, did not have that OT policy, and only 2 weeks PTO and 1 week sick time. So I’m only speaking anecdotally but from what I’ve seen, European companies take better care of their people, even when not legally mandated
I wouldn’t say never, but you’re right that we should measure the system based on it’s output once it starts running. The important thing is to prove that the concept can be net positive. If you can get a long enough life out of it then the manufacturing impacts are negligible
Or hope you get hired by a European based company that gives a little bit more of a shit about you
Mine was the same. It’s amazing how much it costs to keep a small house at a livable temperature when it’s blazing hot outside
Thanks for the info! It’s incredible how much the quality of batteries and chargers vary. It’s good to know a cheap easy place to get them
Me too! It’s nice to have some time off before you start a new one
So he should start working for free? Or just retire and not create an app that many people enjoy?
AI is going to start writing entire fake research papers and books written by fake authors, just so it can be cited as a source for a high school kid using it to cheat on a 500 word essay.
