…what issue? It isn’t technical. I just don’t want another stupid shitty app.
that spreads by means of imitation
Spreading is in the definition. A comic can become a meme, but not until it has spread.
Does anyone else remember when something had to go viral first before it became a meme? Seems like the causality changed and now people “create” memes. Back in my day one did not simply create a meme, it had to become one.
The Star Wars kid, numa numa, all your base, Ellen Feiss, double rainbow etc. Can’t remember my first still image meme. Maybe overly attached girlfriend, scumbag Steve, good guy greg, one of those.
I used to have strong opinions on my OS. Then I got a job and all I use is outlook and excel. Now I don’t care about my operating system. I’m not even sure which version of windows I’m running without checking. 10 I guess?
I’m so sick and tired of every single website and service trying to push an app on me. No, I don’t want to download your stupid shitty app, I’ve got dozens and I don’t want another one that I don’t use that interrupts me to push stupid notifications. Now get off my lawn!

Sick reference, I hadn’t thought of that song in years. She was bullied and harassed endlessly over it. Turns out it was just a relatively well produced amateur music video she did with her friends one day for fun. I always thought it was a poorly produced professional song/video being force fed to us. Felt real bad when I found that out, poor kid hope she’s doing alright.
Dang so obvious how did I miss that?
Lemming is kind of derogatory though no? Like someone who will follow the group think and do whatever the hive says - oh ok nm yeah that works ;)
Hey, my first repost on lemmy! This is shamelessly lifted from r/pizza crimes a few weeks ago. And the top comment there was about gerrymandering too! This is a big moment for me, I think I’m officially a lemmian.
It’s like that episode of Next Generation “Remember Me” when the universe is shrinking and everyone’s disappearing and the Enterprise computer keeps gaslighting Dr Crusher trying to convince her it’s fine, everything’s fine, this is totally normal. But it’s not fine, it really isn’t.
