I didn’t have a car for a few years and the one I had was 2003 (with a slight stint from a similarly-aged car during a couple-month time I had to drive). I now have a car again and I HATE that my heat/air and such are all flat against the panel (not a touch screen, though). I literally can’t adjust anything without looking in my current car. Thankfully, I avoid driving it whenever possible.

I would stick with my parents. I also have other citizenship and Japan would require giving up all citizenship to become a Japanese citizen. I would complain that it is bullshit as I do today about Japan’s current citizenship laws.
I maintain US citizenship as the only biological child of my parents in case I need to be there for them due to an emergency or, later, end-of-life care. I cannot move them to Japan nor would they want to.
We’re not even through the first half yet, so it’s pretty impossible to say, I think. BG3 could be in there, but we could also just be blown away by other things unforeseeable from here/now.

I keep meaning to look more into how qr codes work. I always wondered if there were possible attack vectors if a bad actor exploited a flaw in the decoding of the image. My mind went to a zip bomb for no apparent reason (a tiny file that unzips to a massive amount of data on disk)
Work has me using my current phone for alerts on my on-call rotation. I asked them to send me a pager instead if I can’t properly filter the alerts (Jira on Android has at least 2 sets of notification settings and then there are settings apparently within Jira. I was getting basically every Jira, Confluence, etc. message).
soy (in the form of edamame, tofu, and natto) is probably the cheapest option. Eggs are usually next on the list for people over here.
Edit: seafood might or might not be an option before eggs depending upon where one lives. Organ meat as well as we eat heart, liver, etc. a lot here as well.
Seconded. I would have issues that kept getting worse as I got older. I noticed that whenever I did keto, I felt much better. When I combined it with going gluten free, I felt amazing. Well, dad gets diagnosed with Celiac and my old DNA test results mentioned I was a carrier and more likely to develop it. I haven’t had the endoscopy yet, but it’s pretty likely. This sucks as I love bread and baking it.
Anyway, if gluten is an issue, rice flour can be used for a lot of things and corn/potato starch is a good thickener (whichever is cheaper where you are).
Only slightly related. One weird thing I noticed when moving to Japan is that peanuts and beans were way more expensive than the US. I guess the equivalent here would be moyashi (bean sprouts) and cabbage.
I have an LG with WebOS and have youtube premium and haven’t seen any ads so far (though it may be regional). Cheers for the link, tough. I wonder if it works on Japanese versions

Opposite here. I got started with Gentoo back in the day of building things from the ground up. Their tutorials all used nano and I just got used to using that. I think when I had casually tried to mess with linux previously, old Mandrake and Redhat in the '90s, I always used the GUI editors, but I also didn’t have a ton of time to mess with it and my hardware wasn’t well-supported.
I’ve been living without the first two for years now. I could live without youtube if I really needed to, though I do watch a lot of stuff about farming that is really helpful. Most of my youtube watching is educational with a slight smattering of games and entertainment and a tiny bit of news.
My dad, my classmate’s family, and I all had one in the early '90s. An old friend collected (probably still does) them and had a variety in his closet. I think we can safely say ‘at least around 20’ now.
Dad was also in a commodore user group back before the modern internet. Those meetings were always fun.

People didn’t find what they wanted and/or went back to what was stable and familiar. I still am avoiding using reddit for anything except the subs related to people living in Japan (the community didn’t move over; a couple did but there were basically no posts very quickly) and when it shows up in some search result and nothing else has worked.
