And twitter. And mastodon. And lemmy ffs, we’re not immune. (I’m doing it right now, in fact.)

why not just let lose of this crippling desire to align ourselves with some historical identity
Fair enough. Counterpoint: It doesn’t freaking matter what word we use. No matter what the word is, the right will attempt to poison it and stir hatred of it and assign meanings to it that aren’t real. Look at what happened to “woke”. It will keep happening, because the modern right is Fascism, and poisoning language is a fascist tactic that goes back to the very beginning. You call yourself an Anarchist; where on Earth do you live that nobody has negative associations with “Anarchist”.
Use whatever word you want, just use it consistently. Don’t expect it to stay free of propaganda, because they do that to our words on purpose.
That’s why they call me Dollar Bill. Because I have one.
This is exactly how I’m tryna be (I live alone in my house with my dog and my $0.003M fortune)
The Baby War of 2020 touched all aspects of our lives.
You went as cringe?
That’s pretty cool.
I’m truly not being a negative nancy but the last time I checked reddit had 400M user accounts. We should be comparing active user numbers, but either way, this is a drop in the bucket and reddit rightly does not consider Lemmy a threat to its supremacy at this point.
We’re doing great though! Good trajectory.
The ferris wheel was QA’d to the point that even a meth-head could set it up safely.
you edited it so it’s less funny, which, you know, why even bother at that point. Why would you intentionally make a meme less funny.
It says “Quick question: what the fuck”
Does IC give you a way to make your own replacement suggestions? I only use Shipt, and it’s built into shipt to preload “if they don’t have that, get this”. Most of the time the shopper is able to complete the whole order without changing anything when the preloaded suggestions are used.
I hope the analogy doesn’t hold because the next bit after this is they wander the desert for 40 years.
YSK that most of these have an expiration date (and should have an expiration date). Checking the box says trust this device that I’m currently using, for a while, thus:
In short, most of the time you’ll have to do this once a month, or more if you’re using more than one device, and that’s nominally to protect you.
However, yes, a significant portion of these are just implemented by dummies, and don’t work.
The particularly annoying ones for me are the ones on bill pay sites. If they work for a month, that doesn’t help me. I only pay my bills once a month.
It’s not that it was the issue. It probably wasn’t, although we’ll never know.
It paints a picture. A bigger picture of carelessness, corner cutting, rushing, and absolute indifference to the lives that depend on this company making its sub work.
And in a larger sense, it paints a picture of the way the wealthy run every aspect of the world now: carelessness, corner cutting, rushing, and absolute indifference to human lives.
