It was explicitly represented as her voice when he tweeted “Her” in relation to the product, referencing a movie which she voiced. It’s not a legal grey area in the US. He sank his own ship here.

He tweeted “Her”, which explicitly tells us it’s a deliberate imitation of Scarlett’s voice in that movie. And he tried to negotiate licencing her famous voice, which she rejected.
So it’s more than just a coincidence, it’s deliberate bad faith behaviour. Legally you can’t misrepresent a product as being from a famous person when it wasn’t, and he very much did that. I guess he was hoping she’d give in and accept the licensing agreement post-facto. But instead it looks he’s in legal deep water now.
All this tells me is that they have a great PR department.
Meanwhile Mercedes has already reached level 3.
I remember many years ago New Scientist magazine did a review study of many different alternative medicine techniques and found that the only benefits they provided were placebo effect.
Except acupuncture. That was the only one with an effect greater than placebo.
Did she use an AK to effect her change?
…everyone you dislike?
Not if you’re planning on buying an EV
Both ISO8601 and RFC3339 are YYYY-MM-DD. The difference is in how the date and time are separated.
They recently passed a law which said you could install picture hooks “within reason” without being penalised by your landlord. Prior to that if you installed a picture hook you’d likely be charged for the cost of re-plastering the wall when you left. Although they wouldn’t actually re-plaster it, they’d just charge you as if they had and then the next renter would have a picture hook so lucky them.
But major mods like installing a TV mount are totally out unless you can negotiate it with the landlord somehow. If you did it without permission it’s grounds for eviction and a loss of your bond.
Pretty much none allow it in my country.
Even the theoretically recyclable ones don’t usually get recycled because it’s economically unviable in most cases.
Sadly, a very low percentage of plastic gets recycled anyway. In my country recycling company stats say only 10% - 20% of collected plastic is recycled. But the reality is much worse than that.
It turns out that nearly all of even that small percentage just gets shipped to a poor country for recycling because it’s too expensive to recycle here. Once it’s been shipped it’s considered “recycled” but since recycling is expensive the company receiving it just takes the money and quietly landfills it in their own country.
The reality is that plastic recycling barely happens at all.
Some people catch it but never see any symptoms so they don’t even know they had it.
He literally was paid a shit-ton of money by the pentagon to provide service to the Ukranian military. He took the money. And then he’s like, “how could I have known they’d use it in WAR?”
It’s pretty obvious he got paid by the Russians to sabotage that operation. Which makes him an enemy agent against the US I guess since he sabotaged a military asset the US paid for.
That’s not at all what I’m saying. I’m saying there’s little to no difference in practical use, except for the convenience of using a standard. Standards make life much easier because you’re talking the same language as everyone else. When you’re pretty much the only country still using Fahrenheit maybe it’s time to think about using the global standard?
Is that even possible? I thought it was randomly forcing the change to Windows 11 on Windows 10 users anyway.
Celebrities get wide latitude to protect themselves from imitators. Impressionists can do “satire” etc. but this isn’t that. It’s explicitly a reference to her voice in the movie, and as such she’s protected by law from them going around her and hiring someone else to imitate her.
